Bar Counter indicator not available in Strategy Builder

I downloaded a Bar Counter indicator that I want to use in Strategy Builder, it is available on the chart but not in the Strategy Builder. How do I make the Bar Counter available in Strategy Builder?

Thank you for your post.

In order for an indicator to show up in the Strategy Analyzer, it must have a public plot available. The Bar Counter indicator does not have a plot; what are you looking to achieve in the strategy that you are building? You could make a condition based on the Misc > Current bar option which will return the number of the bar index. This is the same number that is displayed on the chart visually in the Bar Counter indicator that is publicly available on our NinjaTrader Ecosystem website:

Hi Emily, thanks for your response. I was trying to have trades initiate during only during regular trading hours. So I was goin to use a bar counter to do that, in real time live, simulation, and playback modes.

Another option to restrict trades to only take place during specific hours would be to create a time filter in your condition. We have an example of a time filter in the Strategy Builder here:
