max parameters for optimization

Can someone please remind me what the max allowed parameters on a strategy is in order to be able to do optimization on the analyzer? I remember in times past a couple times where i would have a strategy with too many parameters and it would not let me optimize.

Hello iplaymuzik,

There is not a hard limit to the number of overall parameters that your strategy can have but you can get a warning when trying to optimize too many at once. When you change the min/max value on a parameter that adds a number of iterations to the optimization. If you do that for a lot of parameters at one that can create an extremely large number of iterations which wont be able to complete in a reasonable time so that is blocked with a warning message. You would have to optimize less parameters at once in that case.
