indicator in strategy is diferent than real

why the indicator works diferent on strategy builder than reality? the setup was the same...

Thanks for your post.

It could be that the indicator being referenced in the strategy is not set to the same settings as the indicator you have added on a chart.

Typically, same indicator + same indicator settings + same data = same results.

What exactly is the name of the indicator you are referring to?

Do you have the indicator added on the Chart window set to the same exact settings as the indicator being referenced in the strategy?

hi Brandon, yes it is with the same settings both, it is an rss indicator with same parameters and the preview is different, first time that happens.

I also, add a new chart with the indicator, and everything ok, but still diferent on strategy

Thanks for your notes.

I have created a simple test strategy that checks if the RSS indicator is greater than 80 and draws a dot on the chart. The strategy also plots the RSS indicator on the chart

When enabling the strategy on a chart and adding the RSS indicator with the same settings to a chart, I am seeing that the RSS indicator plotted by the strategy is the same as the RSS indicator added to the chart. See the attached screenshots.

Note in the screenshots, the EMAPeriod 1, EMAPeriod 2, and Length settings are exactly the same (10, 40, 5) for both the indicator referenced in the strategy and the indicator added to the chart.

I have added the script used to test this so you could test it on your end.
