New Version of NT Doesn't Work Properly
Earlier today I download, then installed, then launched your most recent version (8.1.1.7 64-bit). Everything seemed to go as expected (eg, no noticable errors). I use the Strategy Analyzer extensively, so went to that immediately. There, I pulled up the strategy I've been working on most recently. I selected "Optimization" (as per usual). I then tried to change some parameters over which to perform the optimization. Well, for some reason I am not able to do that. Yes, I can put the cursor in the box so that I can change the values there (as previously). And, I can use the arrow keys to move the cursor to the left and right. But, I am not allowed to change the values there. Similarly, the delete and backspace keys don't work (they just put the cursor at the beginning of the box).
Please fix this immediately. -
Hello spottysallrite,
I tried the steps you listed on my end and see that the optimization fields are working normally. Did you try this with the SampleMACrossover strategy and edit the Fast or Slow parameters to check if that works? If you see a problem with the sample I would suggest to complete a uninstall and re install and then try again. We havent had any reports of problems surrounding the optimizer and editing the values.

Nope. Still the same problem.
In particular, I exited NT, then re-launched it. I then selected the "SampleMACrossover" strategy. I ran a simple optimization using the "Fast" parameter and the range of "10;13;1". That did produce a result, so no problems so far. I then tried to change those values, but that produced the same (non) results as above. In particular, I can't then change those values. eg, the backspace and delete keys simply put the cursor at the beginning of that cell.
So, I then uninstalled NT, then re-installed it, then re-launched it (as you requested above). Finally, I repeated the above and I got the same (non) result: parameter values can be changed initially, but can't be changed after running an optimization.

Hello spottysallrite,
With the additional details of what you are trying to do I was able to see a case where the parameters get stuck. You can track this in the change log with ID: NT-178Last edited by NinjaTrader_Jesse; 06-22-2023, 01:27 PM.
