    problems with limit orders

    Hello,
    I run an automated strategy in mCL , no problems in backtest but in real time in sim account , the Limit orders for entries donīt run.
    In my Limit order for entries, I enter with 3 contracts , but I canīt summit any order, there are error messages. See picture attached.
    In the setup of my sim account I set the max num of contracts to=20. It should be enough to enter with only 3 contracts.
    Why I canīt ??

    Thanks for your post.

    Please right-click on the Sim101 account on the Accounts tab of the Control Center > select 'Edit Account' > Increase the 'Max Position Size' setting or set it to zero > click OK.

    Note to modify the Sim101 account, you will need to enable the Multi-provider option if you do not have it enabled already. The 'Multi-provider' option could be enabled by going to Tools > Options > General tab > checking the 'Multi-provider checkbox > and click OK. After enabling Multi-provider you will need to restart NinjaTrader.

    Then, test to see if the behavior persists.

      I did it, setting max order size and max position size to 20 contracts., but the problem remains.
      In my strategy I enter 3 contracts with limit order.
      If there is an opposite signal, I want to reverse position with 3 contracts , with a limit order again.
      If there is a position with partial fill, for example, 2 contracts ( not the 3 that I want), and I want to reverse position, I understand that NinjaTrader closes first this 2 contracts, and reverse with 3 contracts with the new Limit order in the reverse action.
      Is it correct ??
      If is it correct and my max position size is big enough (20 contracts), why there is a message that I exceeds the max position quantity as you can see in the picture of the email above???

        Thanks for your notes.

        What version of NinjaTrader are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 8.0.?.?)

        If you are not using NinjaTrader 8.0.28.0 or8.1.1.7, please update your platform by following the steps below.

        To update NinjaTrader
        • Shutdown all programs including NinjaTrader *important
        • Download NinjaTrader from the link below
        • Double click the downloaded file to execute it
        • Follow the on screen instructions
        • Restart NinjaTrader
        You can read about changes to this release in the release notes linked below.

        Then, please set the 'Max position size' setting to 0 by right-clicking on the Sim101 account on the Accounts tab of the Control Center > select 'Edit Account' > set 'Max position size' to zero > click OK.

        Then test to see if you are able to reproduce the error message and report your results.

          I have the latest version of NT8.

            I reset the Max Position Size =0 in the Sim101 account, and when I go again to the NinjaScripteditor happens the same !!!!!

              And if I go to a chart and try to insert a strategy, in the list of all srtategies only appear very few, and the rest of strategies ( more than 50-60...)donīt appear as available !!

                I tried to do a backup, and appear an error message saying that I canīt because ALL my NinjaScript files are not in a compilable state !!!

                  Thanks for your notes.

                  Changing the Max Position Size of the Sim101 account does not resolve compile errors.

                  This was mentioned so that you could resolve the error message you initially reported.

                  In regard to the compile error, please reference the reply in the other forum thread you have open about the compile error message you posted. Direct any further questions about the compile error to that forum thread, not this one.
