How to see whether a historical order was a Limit or Market?

    Hello,

I've been wanting to see whether the strategy code resulted in market or limit order. I can't seem to find it in the Strategy Performance or Trade Performance.

    Where would it be?

    Many Thanks, Caesar.

In the Performance Report, in the top dropdown "Display", if you pick Orders, every order is listed with a type such as Market, Limit, etc.

      Hello Caesar,

      Thank you for your note.

You may right-click your chart then select Strategy Performance > Historical (or Real-time and Historical) to open the Strategy Performance window. Then, as Bruce mentioned, you could select the Orders display to view details about each individual order including the order type. Otherwise, you could also add print statements to your script that print the order type when an order is submitted. That way you could review the NinjaScript Output window to see what order types were submitted during historical processing.

Well, if this is a strategy on a chart we're talking about, right click on the chart, then choose Strategy Performance -> Which Strategy -> Historical/Realtime/All.

The approach of New -> Trade Performance would be looking at orders in the account, regardless of where they came from.

Follow up question. I found the Strategy column to be blank, is that intentional?

              Many Thanks, Caesar.

                Hello Caesar,

                Thank you for your reply.

What version of NinjaTrader are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 8.?.?.?)

Which window(s) are you seeing this in? For example, Trade Performance, Strategy Performance, etc. If possible, please provide a screenshot of what you are referring to.
                • To send a screenshot with Windows 10 or newer I would recommend using the Windows Snipping Tool.
                • Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save it as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.
I look forward to your reply.
