Prevent trading on high impact news or events

Is there any indicator available or any options to prevent an automated strategy from taking trades over high impact news or events?

Often these kinds of things get added to a strategy on an ad hoc basis but there might be an add on or indicator to do it more across the board. You should check the ecosystem and user add on area for this or if there's not it might be a good thing for someone to make one that reads from the NinjaTrader calendar or reads from an industry website that can be scraped. Such an indicator would probably require ongoing maintenance though because formats change all the time and it would have to be kept up to date.

The suggestions from Bruce may be helpful, but this would be beyond the realm of what the NinjaTrader Engineering Support team is able to assist with.

The easy way would be to hard code time and date conditions into the script.
