Strategy enable and placement

I am having issues with two behaviors of Ninja and I like to understand the reasons to manage them correctly.
- Why I must login in order to enable a strategy ? (the enable checkbox remains grey if logged off). While backtesting I don't need any moving data nor connection.
- Why my strategies often disappear from the chart (I suspect if not enabled, not sure) when I reboot Ninja even though I the workspace is saved correctly and the indicators remain.

Hello G,

This was the design of the developers. Without a connection to real-time data, a NinjaScript Strategy cannot be enabled on chart. You can run in the Strategy Analyzer instead if you are only focused on historical data. Alternatively, you could connect to the External data feed with no application pushing data.

If the strategies are disappearing from the chart this would indicator either the strategy code has an error (like a serializing error), the implementation changed (meaning something changed in the code of the script), or the workspace was improperly saved.

Are you able to reproduce in a new workspaces with only the sample ma crossover added?

How do I connect to the External data feed with no application pushing data? I have Kinetics and continum and when I connect they push data.... can you explain?

Regarding the disappearing strategy I will experiment based on the information you gave me and I'll try to assess what the exact behavior it.
