    Hello spottysallrite,

That is the answer to your question, in realtime the market order fills are based on the live market. The Slippage property is only used for backtesting and not in realtime.

If you don't like the fills which you are getting from market orders and want to have a fill on a specific price you need to use a different type of order where you can use a specific fill price. Market orders will fill based on the current market and likely will not be the MIT price that you specified.

No, my question has been whether NT automatically applies any slippage to MIT orders when trading sim live, and you haven't answered that directly.

        Hello spottysallrite,

The slippage property is only used in backtesting. Slippage is applied in backtesting only to market orders and only if you have entered a value in the slippage field. You can see my previous replies about how slippage works in realtime.

Please stop giving me the runaround on this. If you can't answer the question directly, then just say so.

            Hello spottysallrite,

I have answered your question a few times now. Slippage is something that happens in live markets. The platform can simulate slippage in backtests by entering a value into the slippage field. In live markets slippage can happen based on the market you are trading. That is dictated by the prices of that market. You can read about how slippage works in the following public investopedia link: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/slippage.asp

No you haven't. My question isn't about slippage and how it happens in the market. My question is how NT handles MIT orders. You haven't answered that directly. Yes, you've given me replies, but no direct answer to my question. Why is this so hard for you to do? Endlessly dodging the question is not constructive.

(BTW, all of my MIT exits today included at least 1 tick of slip. If these were real market exits at least some of those would have been at the MIT price, or better.)

                Hello spottysallrite,

My question is how NT handles MIT orders
The platform submits a market order once the MIT price was met. The name of MIT is Market if touched. That is how the platform handles it, it submits a market order at that point in time. MIT is a logical type of order that uses a price as a trigger to submit a market order.

Ok, true or false: When filling MIT sell orders in live sim trading, NT automatically reduces them by at least one tick from the specified MIT price.

                    Hello spottysallrite,

As I have mentioned that is false, The Slippage property is not used in realtime but only for backtesting. If you need a fill at a specific price please avoid using market orders.
