    Auto Breakeven

    Hello,

I would like to implement an auto breakeven into my current strategy. I would like it to automatically set a total stop loss at breakeven after moving up 10 points.

    How would I do this?

    Thank you.

ChelsieB. with NinjaTrader Customer Service has created a very helpful Strategy example, named:

BreakEvenBuilderExample_NT8.zip (you can Search for it, here in the Forum)

This example has been created using Strategy Builder and has both a practical and an educational value !

Hello, thanks for writing in. The examples in the strategy builder for break even and a trailing stop can be found here:

      Kind regards,

        Hello Chris,

Thank you for the info, I have followed the steps in Chelsea's tutorial but still cannot seem to figure out why it is not working. I have set my trade entry conditions to trigger state 1 and followed the rest of the example strategy but the breakeven still does not set.

Hello, thanks for the follow up. The examples I sent in my last reply work. Please import those and test them out to see how the logic works. Unfortunately, the support team will not be able to assist in debugging custom scripts. This is so we can provide help to all requests in a timely matter.

That is okay, quick question about the triggers. Is it okay to have more than 1 "trigger 1" i.e. wiil have 2 "trigger 1"s, one for short and one for long? Is this possible or should unique triggers be used?

Hello, thanks for the follow up To have long and short orders you would need to just duplicate the logic within the example I sent, one set for long and another set for short orders.
