I'm having a hard time understanding total net profit being larger than loss (this is good right? profit is good?).

When I read the Cumulative Net profit chart it shows a sea of red (loss right? bad?)

Also when I read the summary that there are more than 7 trades in the analysis, why is only the first 7 shown in the chart?

I miss the "consecutive win" fitness from TradeStation.

I feel NT's strategy analyzer so poorly lacking I might use TS's much more polished and capable analyzer.

    Many Thanks, Caesar.

    Hello Skechers,

The graph you are looking at is for the days shown above the graph in the rows. For those days the profit was negative so the graph is all negative values as well.

I would suggest to try clicking on one of the other result rows to switch to a different optimization run to see if all the trades then show up. It should be showing all of the trades that the strategy placed over the period of time you tested for.

You can also test using the SampleMACrossOver in the optimization to make sure its showing the correct amount of trades for the analysis view. If you see that the sample is showing all trades but your strategy is not that may relate to the strategies logic surrounding its orders.

      Hello,

I have no issues running the sample strategies through the analyzer.

I feel the layout is not optimal. I don't want the see 5 rows of transactions at a time. What am I supposed to do? Copy and paste to a spreadsheet of 200 rows?

What I want to see is the chart with the entire date range included, so I can get a feel over time whether it performs well.

I'll run an optimizer, check the chart for the result, then do the next one, etc. Having to copy & paste wastes a lot of time. Maybe downloading the raw row data to Excel would help, it means I have to create my own layout, but at least I can do something with the data.

I can't do anything useful without this chart laid out the way I noted.

      Thanks, Caesar.

        Hello Skechers,

The view you are looking at groups the trades based on the settings you select. Because you have Daily selected in the list it shows the trades grouped by day. If you want to view the executions you can use the executions tab to view everything at once or if you wanted to export it to a spreadsheet.

If you want to see the chart you can select the Chart option from the display dropdown.

          Hello,

I take back what I said, I like NT8's analyzer better once I understood how to use it :-)

          Many Thanks, Caesar.
