Strategy Running While Not Enabled

Hello -

Hello, I went to restart NT8 and it says I have a position open. Amazing , I do, on CL, and it's profitable, which is nice. I have a NinjaScript Strategy loaded on CL but it's not enabled. Why would the Strategy run when it's not enabled?

Furthermore, on the Data Series I have Text and Marker enabled but I do not see any text or markers on the chart.

I had a similar problem running Blackbird last week - strategies would start for no apparent reason, which Shark Indicators couldn't explain. (The strategy I have now is NinjaScript, not Blackbird.)

The message you are seeing just relates to having a position open, that has nothing to do with a running strategy being active. If a strategy placed an order which entered a position and was either enabled or was later disabled then you would get this message when trying to restart the platform. You would also get this message if you had manually opened a position and it was still open, its just reminding you that there is a position before exiting.

The Text and Marker setting is only for strategies that are applied directly to a chart and only while enabled. If your strategy is disabled you should not see markers or text.

I would not be able to comment about the third party items and how they operate, a normal NinjaScript strategy would need to be enabled for its logic to be run.
