Can someone explain to me what the Forex.com issue about strategies is

According to the connection guide that Forex.com issues for connecting to NinjaTrader, they provide this disclaimer:

Any submitted market orders or executions resulting from market orders will not be displayed after disconnect/reconnect, as the API does not support downloading market order history.

I'm not really sure what they mean and if I'm running a strategy, what should I do in this situation? Are they saying after a disconnection you can't see any history of market orders? Sounds like NinjaTrader can't request market history from them. Is that what it says? Is there an appropriate work around for this? I've tried to get a clarification from Forex.com about this but they simply ignore my question. (Not so great support....)

    Hello dweems,

The message here just means that forex.com does not provide that part of the account data meaning that the platform cannot download your order history for market type orders. The platform generally shows historical orders in the performance views based on your account however in this situation if you disconnect/reconnect the data will not be able to be re downloaded so that trade information will be missing.

You technically don't have to do anything here, to avoid that situation would simply mean to avoid disconnecting while in your trading session. Alternatively you can stop using market orders, if your strategy places market orders you could instead use limit type orders to ensure that is able to be tracked through disconnects.

Thanks. I'll look into using limit orders instead.

The disclaimer that Forex.com provides in the connection guide for connecting to NinjaTrader seems to suggest that if you use their API for submitting market orders or executing trades, you may not be able to view the history of these orders after a disconnection/reconnection. This means that any market orders or executions that occurred during the disconnection period may not be displayed. Summarising all this up there are many issues that occur during trading my yourself, that's why I always suggest applying to forex brokers and other professionals. Plus read articles and reviews like hy markets reviews. This will guarantee you trading with no issues and unpredictable situations.
