When I sim trade on the live market does it assume I have Market Depth data?

Hi NT8,

If I am trading on the live market, on a sim account, does it assume that my subscription-based market data includes the market depth option? When I sign up for Market Data through NT.com, there is a more expensive option to also get market depth. To match my results with sim trading strategies on the live market, I just need to confirm that it sim is operating with the market depth data or not. thank you!

Thanks for your post.

No, you would not need to subscribe to market depth data.

Level 2 data (market depth) is not used in the NinjaTrader simulator and is not used with historical data.

The differences between Live and Sim are as follows:

Live trading is different from Sim since the order fill is simulated locally from level 1 data, and adds random delays between order states to simulate slippage. In a live account, the exchange fills the order and the order has to reach the exchange from NinjaTrader.
