    Super simple macd strategy

Hello, I'm trying to create (without success) a very simple strategy:

if the fast macd ema value of the current bar is less than the fast macd value of the previous bar then a sell is launched. I would also like to be able to define this value as a variable so that I can use it in the optimizer. I've tried several combination without success...as a total beginner I kindly ask if someone could point me in the right direction.

    Best regards

    Paul

    Hello Paul vanR,

    Thank you for the post.

To better understand the problem we would need to see what you tried for the condition, could you post an image of your condition and what the result was?

      Hello Jesse,
I can't attach here the code (error 403...I've uploaded the .cs file online): I tried with 2 emas since with macd it is even more difficult for me.
I know it's a very simple strategy but I'm a total beginner and I don't understand where to put my hands.

        Hello Paul vanR,

It looks like you made user inputs but didn't use them. The next step would be to re-edit your conditions that use the EMA and use the parameter you made.

An example would be in set 1, when making your condition and selecting the first EMA you would click in the box instead of typing in a number, clicking in the box lets you pick from variables like ValueFastEmaScale.

The strategy builder webinar covers creating a strategy that uses user inputs for the moving averages as well: https://youtu.be/VxU4FR6GWNA

Thanks Jesse, I'm starting to understand how to create it. One more thing: could You please tell me how can I insert one of the numbers in the chart scale on the right (see image attached) as a variable? I didn't find any item in the dropdown list.
