Add Special Renko Bars as DataSeries inside my strategy

Hello guys!

I have a special renko bar that I purchased from a third party vendor. I would like to code inside my strategy to look for special conditions happening with this bars on higher time frame. Can I use AddDataSeries() for this purpose? What should be the syntax?

AddDataSeries can use the BarsPeriodType enum ID to add.

From the help guide:
"Tips:
2. You can add a custom BarsType which is installed on your system by casting the registered enum value for that BarsPeriodType. For example: AddDataSeries((BarsPeriodType)14, 10);
3. You can specify optional BarsPeriod values (such as Value2) of a custom BarsType in the BarsPeriod object initializer. For example: AddDataSeries(new BarsPeriod() { BarsPeriodType = (BarsPeriodType)14, Value = 10, Value2 = 20 });"

Thank you Chelsea! I found the BarsPeriodType id for the bar I want to use. My next question is how I can pass the parameters for the bars... because they need 3 different input to construct the renko bars... So How I should proceed?

This is what is being discussed with Tip 3.

You can specify optional BarsPeriod values (such as Value2) of a custom BarsType in the BarsPeriod object initializer. For example: AddDataSeries(new BarsPeriod() { BarsPeriodType = (BarsPeriodType)14, Value = 10, Value2 = 20 });

So set Value, Value2, or whichever specific properties this script makes available.

Thank you. So I can know for sure which properties names are used by this custom bar type? The only thing I know is when I go to DataSeries, it shows this 3 inputs as you see in this picture:



I tried with: AddDataSeries(new BarsPeriod() { BarsPeriodType = (BarsPeriodType)13212, Value = 87, Value2 = 174, Value3 = 65 });

But I get an error because Value3 it does not exist.

How I should pass these 3 values correctly to AddDataSeries?

Value3 does not exist.

As far as which ones the developer chose to code in the script, you would need to ask the developer on how to use their software or look in the code if its open source.
