Little red flag when I turn on strategy

    Hi NT8,

When I turn on a strategy, I see a little red flag in the strategies tab row for that strategy. what does this flag mean?

    Hello Austiner87,

    Thanks for your post.

Do you see the 'little red flag' appear when enabling the SampleMACrossOver strategy that comes default with NinjaTrader?

Do you see any errors in the Log tab of the Control Center when enabling the strategy in question?

Please send us a screenshot of the 'little red flag' that you are referring to so we may accurately assist.
    • To send a screenshot with Windows 10 or newer I would recommend using the Windows Snipping Tool.
    • Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save it as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.
I look forward to assisting further.

I get the same thing. I've expanded the Sync column and it shows nothing more than "True" and the red flag. No other strategy enters on EURGBP so why the red flag?

        Hello Lance El Camino,

The flag means a data series with a different instrument has been added to the strategy with AddDataSeries().
The flag is notifying you there are multiple instrument positions so you should expand the strategy row to see positions for the other instrument(s).

Below is a link to the help guide.

See the 'Understanding the strategies tab' for the Sync column.

Yes this is true. The strategy uses COT data based on 6E and 6B to create conditions for entrances on EURGBP.

So after expanding I see the 2 added data series. Why would it matter if positions are taken on those 2 additional series if this strategy doesn't take positions on them? Does the red flag just allow you to be aware just in case a strategy DOES take positions on additional data series?

            Hello Lance El Camino,

Yes, since a series of a different instrument is added, this is just to make you aware.
