    stop loss unmanaged

    Hi, i was wondering if this is correct to place a stop loss since when the price hit it my position doesn't close. I had a buy position of 2 contracts and this how i placed the stop loss:
    Is correct to use stop market? thanks
    SubmitOrderUnmanaged(0, OrderAction.Buy, OrderType.StopMarket, quantity, 0, averagePrice + m_StopLoss * TickSize, "4"+CurrentBar.ToString(), "SL1");

    Hello AlessioCianni12,

    Thanks for your post.

    It looks like the mentioned line of code is submitting a Buy Stop Market order above the average entry price. This would be suitable for a stop loss on a short position, but for a long position you would likely want to submit a Sell Stop Market order below the average entry price.

    You may reference the documentation for SubmitOrderUnmanaged to see what each parameter means:

    I am also attaching an example Unmanaged strategy if you would like to see what a working unmanaged strategy looks like.

    Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.
