How to reference a higher TF of the Instrument being analysed in Strategy Builder

    Hi,

I would like to write a strategy which can be applied to multiple instruments, in order to back test multiple instruments.

I'm not a coder, so am only using the Strategy Builder wizard.

My strategy establishes trend by referencing the 200 EMA. I have added my higher TFs as additional data, and reference these as Entry conditions.

    Ie. USDJPY (Weekly) > EMA(200)

How can I instead reference the EMA of a higher TF of the instrument the strategy is being applied to, so I can apply it to any currency? The logic of the 'default input' does not allow me to specify a TF, so I presume it can only apply to the TF being tested/applied to rather than higher TFs to establish trend?

If there is a script i can use whilst also continuing to use the Strategy builder that would be great.

    Thanks!

Hi, thanks for posting. You can add extra series in the Additional Data tab of the builder (check Use Primary instrument), then apply the series to various indicators like the EMA:

      Awesome thanks Chris.

(You could add this advice to the Basket Testing Multiple Currencies page)

      Cheers!
