    Moving Stop Cancelled Trade

This morning I had a trade one that was placed by a strategy that was coded by a developer. There are 3 take profits and 3 stop losses. After the first take profit was hit, I moved 1 of the stop losses closer to the entry but a good 25 points away from the price. That worked fine.

Later on take profit 2 was hit. I then attempted to move the remaining stop loss a few points on the plus side of the entry price but still a good 35 points away from the price. However, this time the entire strategy was closed. Again, I moved the last stop loss but it was nowhere near the price and was not hit. Why did NT close down the entire position?

    Hello GoldBands,

    Thank you for your note.

While our ability to troubleshoot 3rd party strategies is generally limited by the fact that in many cases, these are distributed as compiled assemblies and we cannot access the code, we would need to take a look at your log and trace files to determine what may have occurred. As these may contain personally identifiable information, we wouldn't want you to post those here, but send those in to us directly through the platform.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

Please reference the following ticket number in the body of the email: 3512476 ATTN Kate W. and also provide a link to this post in the body.

Thanks in advance; I look forward to assisting you further.

I don't think this is an issue with the strategy. It's a general question on why moving a stop loss on the chart would automatically close an active trade when the stop loss was not near the price.

        Hello GoldBands,

        Thank you for your reply.

As I stated earlier, we cannot understand what may have occurred without looking at your log and trace files. Please see the instructions in my prior post to send those directly through the platform so that we may assess what may have occurred:
