A way of making sure that all the contracts will be filled immediately ?

    Dear all,

I am new to future trading, So maybe my questions are not correctly written.

I would like to know if it is possible to submit an order with an x number of contracts with certainty that it will be filled directly.

    - Is there a way to submit a buy order at the ask, where most likely the order will be filled directly ?

    - Another question is about the order exit, what happen if this exit not filled completely, but only partially filled, what happen to the remaining contracts?

    Regards.

    Hello PrQuantumH,

I would like to know if it is possible to submit an order with an x number of contracts with certainty that it will be filled directly.
The only way to guarantee that all contracts are filled would be to submit a market order, that executes immediately at the next best price. For other types of orders which can reside at a certain price level you can see partial fills and you may additionally have to wait to see a full fill depending on the quantity and market. Using a order with a 1 quantity would avoid partial fills but you still may need to wait for that price to be hit for the fill to happen.

    - Is there a way to submit a buy order at the ask, where most likely the order will be filled directly ?
You can submit an order at the ask price, that order being filled would be determined by the current market. There is not a way to guarantee the order will fill but you can specify the price you want it to potentially fill at.

    - Another question is about the order exit, what happen if this exit not filled completely, but only partially filled, what happen to the remaining contracts?
An exit that partially fills would remain working until fully filled. This question can also relate to how the strategy is programmed, exit orders which are limit orders can expire depending on the code being used so that could potentially leave part of the position unprotected. The standard exit orders like SetStopLoss will remain working until fully filled.
