Stop Loss Consensus

I was wondering what the consensus is on placing trailing stop loss in ones strategies, I'm trading micro cl and placing my stop about 10 ticks away (nitty of me), I often get picked off, quiet suddenly clearly im doing something off ( please dont make fun of me this seems to happen even when the b/a is 10 or sometimes 15 ticks away from my stop, would love here a consense on how far away to place ones stop or trailing stop. for CL or MCL

Thank you for your post.

We in the support department can't exactly advise how far to place stops from your entry price for compliance reasons as this could be considered trading advice, the closer you place them to the entry the more likely it is that the stop will be hit. If you are seeing stops hit when the price appears to be far from them, this is indicative of a rendering delay/chart lag issue. If you're seeing that occur, reducing the number of charts and NInjaScript add-ons you are using may alleviate the delay.
