Strategy Analyzer only works during a playback connection

Without any connection, the strategy analyzer will not perform a back-test with even a sample MA crossover, I click run but it stops the next second without any results. When I connect to Playback Connection the sample MA crossover will run along with my own created strategy but it will give me results outside of the chosen days for the back-test and I think it is running through the days listed on the playback connection.

does the strategy analyzer need to be connected to playback connection so it can run?

Thanks for your post.

The Strategy Analyzer requires historical data and does not use Market Replay data. We do not recommend using the Strategy Analyzer when connected to the Playback Connection as the Playback Connection will adjust the data that can be requested by the Strategy Analyzer and the backtest performed will not reflect the settings used for the backtest.

If you are connected to your data provider, historical data will be requested for your backtest in the Strategy Analyzer if the data is not already available. Note that your data provider would need to support historical data.
