    Risk Reward Drawing Values

Using Strategy Builder, I have been able to draw the risk-reward levels I would like, is there a way to save those values to variables to use them within the strategy to exit a trade? Thank you in advance for the assistance.

    Hello jhjhawkins,

    Thank you for your post.

How are you setting the price levels for the risk/reward drawings you're creating? You could simply create variables that are assigned these same prices using the same calculations in the same set you draw the lines and then refer to those variables when you determine your exit (variables would be created in the lower section of the Inputs and Variables screen).

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance to you.

When using the RiskReward drawing I can define the risk value and create the variable as you suggested but I'm stuck on how to assign a value to the Reward variable as that is calculated based on the ratio, is this just something I'm going to have to get my head around and code it? Or am I missing something obvious?

        Hello jhjhawkins,

        Thank you for your reply.

The Strategy Builder has really very limited mathematical capability. The only math you can really do is with offsets from a specific price series - you can't use the offsets with another variable. You'd need to unlock your code and manually add in the necessary logic to calculate the reward variable if you're calculating it based off the risk variable, unfortunately.

          Kate,
Appreciate the confirmation, looks like it's time to stop procrastinating and get to work on ninja scripting.
