    Hello trader3000a,

    Thank you for your note.

I would suggest taking a look at this post from my colleague Brandon that goes into how the Parabolic Stop works:

Hi, I am trying to understand how the parabolic stop works, but do not fully understand how to set it up. I have looked here: NinjaTrader 8 (https://ninjatrader.com/support/helpGuides/nt8/?setparabolicstop.htm) But still do not understand it. SetParabolicStop(string fromEntrySignal, CalculationMode mode, double value, bool

      Hi Kate,

I've already been through that post and it's references. No explanation is given, only suggestions to look at something else and take a guess at what it's doing. I've looked at all of the posts in the forums and found nothing carefully written to describe the values' effects. I suspect no one in customer service knows how it works well enough to describe it in simple language. Perhaps you can find out whom programmed the function and ask them to create a visual guide and description of each step?

      thanks anyway,
      David

        Hello trader3000a,

        Thank you for your reply.

The actual code for the SetParabolicStop() method is not publicly available, nor do we on the support team have access to that. Higher acceleration values result in larger moves of the stop along a parabolic path. I would suggest taking a look at the attached example strategy that plots on the chart each of the moves so you can take a look at that and see how changing those acceleration values changes the movement of the stop.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance to you.
