Applying a variable to bar lookback in strategy builder

In the strategy builder, there does not seem to be a way to apply a user assigned variable for bar lookback. for example, the open, (x) bars ago. Seems I have to pick a number when building? Am I missing something, or is that the case. I wanted to optimize these settings, but can't without a user assigned value.

That's correct, in the Strategy Builder it would not be possible to set a user input for the Bars Ago value. You would need to unlock your code and manually add logic to use a user input for the Bars Ago value. Note that code that has been unlocked cannot be further edited in the Strategy Builder.
