Strategy Builder [Candlestick Indicator]

I would like to test an autostrat that enters at market price when candlestick indicator plots any of the following candles: bullish engulfing, bearish engulfing, evening star, or morning star. I would greatly appreciate help with the code for this. Default profit target and stop loss can be set at any value as I will use the analyzer to find optimal settings. Thanks community.

Thanks for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

I've added some references for the Strategy Builder below, please take the time to review them as this will help get you going if you wish to create this yourself.

The NinjaTrader platform includes the indicator CandleStickPattern which can be used in the Strategy Builder. You can select any of the 23 candle patterns. When the pattern is found, the indicator returns a value of 1 so you can create a condition to see if the indicator value is 1, for the chosen pattern. You can then have the strategy EnterLong or EnterShort as you wish.

For the stops and profits, I would suggest creating two variables (one for each) where you can specify the Number of ticks for the stop or profit. By creating these variables you will be able to use them in the optimizer.

Please note that we do not create strategies for you or debug your strategies. If you would like something created for you, we can provide references to 3rd party programmers in the NinjaTrader ecosystem. We can also keep this thread open for any community member that would like to further assist you.
