No risk settings defined - Equities

I'm trying to run a strategy on stocks. However when the strategy triggers I keep getting this pop-up that says 'order can't be submitted. No risk settings defined' (see pic attached) although I went through and made a risk template for all my stocks I'm trading.... what am I doing wrong? I'm using TD Ameritrade pricing info, does that have anything to do with it?

    Thanks

    Hello elcowen,

This is due to an incorrect template being applied to the server last week, that was corrected during the weekend maintenance.

To resolve the risk template issues you will need to delete the risk templates from Documents\NinjaTrader 8\templates\Risk, if you have custom templates that you have created you can leave those. Next open NT8, open Risk, select the blank template and press Remove. After doing that Restart NinjaTrader.

Please let me know if I may be of additional assistance.

        Hello Lopat,

The error is correct you can't remove the default template from within NinjaTrader, that is automatically restored if removed from the filesystem. If you don't want to use that template you would need to set the account to use <None>. To set the template for an account:

Right click on a Simulation Account

        Select "Edit Account"

Change the selected "Risk" template parameter to <None>

          Hello Jesse,

if I set the risk settings to none, I still get the error message.

Can I avoid the error message in another way?

          Thanks

          Robin

            Hello Lopat,

The error you pictured is not an error, you can't remove the default template. You don't need to remove that template.

The error in post 1 is caused by an erroneous template with no name that was pushed at the time of when post #1 was posted, that has since been resolved. The steps in post 2 are how to correct that error, you don't need to remove the default template only the one with a blank name. If you did that step then you don't have to do anything else.

Please let me know if I may be of additional assistance.
