adding chart timeframe to message

I want to broadcast an alert message

I went to actions, alert, and under the message, I can put @"MACD Alert"

but how do I add the timeframe of the chart, say the Chart is on 60 minutes
I want the alert message to say

@"MACD 60 Minutes Alert"

because I am going to add the same strategy to different timeframes

Thanks for your post.

From your description, it sounds like you are working with the Strategy Builder so my reply will be based on that. If that is not correct, please clarify.

There is no means to automatically pull in the instrument or bar size in the Strategy Builder. You would need to unlock the strategy and work directly in Ninjascript to make that happen. Once unlocked the strategy can then only be edited in the Ninjascript editor going foward.

If you wish to stay within the Strategy Builder, what I would suggest is that you create an "input", on the Inputs and variables page, of the string type, and use this input so that when you apply the strategy to a chart, you can type in whatever you like. That input can be used in the Alert message in addition to the other information you have.
