Fake Strategy Position

Hi, weird request. Is it possible to for a strategy to take a simulated position? For example, instead of executing a long order, it would just simulate that long order, but only execute real orders on the short side. or vice versa.

Are you wanting to submit long orders to the Sim101 account and short orders to your Live account? Or, do you want to just simulate long orders that never get executed?

If you are wanting to simulate long orders that never get executed, there are no documented or supported methods for submitting a fake strategy position.

If you are wanting to have long orders submitted to the Sim101 account and short orders to the Live account, you could run two strategies on the same instrument using different accounts (Sim101 and Live). The first strategy that places long orders could be enabled on the Sim101 account. The second strategy that places short orders would be enabled on the Live account. Since the strategies are using different accounts, they would not interfere with each other. So the one strategy would be long orders only and sends the orders to the Sim101 account, the other would be short orders only and sends the orders to your live account.
