How to code based on specific Instrument Selected?

Hello,

Does anyone have a sample if statement that I can use in my strategy based on the selected instrument?


Basically i'm trying to write strategy and indicator (both separately) that based on which instrument(futures,stock,forex) the user has on the chart I want to code.

For example:

if (selected instrument is forex)
do
{
}
elsif (selected instrument is future)
do
{
}
elseif (selected instrument is stocks/equity)
do
{
}
else
{}
fi



Trying to figure out how to determine the instrument being used so that i can make the calculations correctly.

Hello priceisking,

You can use the MasterInstrumnt to get the type. If you are in an indicator or strategy it would be this:

if(Instrument.MasterInstrument.InstrumentType == InstrumentType.Forex)
