How to create a buy/sell condition on an MA color change

    Hi there,

I'm new here and just got started with the strategy builder.

i'm currently stuck on setting up an buy and sell condition based on a MA color change. this is what i have currently done for the buy condition https://www.screencast.com/t/lZUymPIcrYZ

Price >> Close >> Equal >> colorvalue Dogerblue which is the color for the buy signal.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello RemonH,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

It looks like you are using a 3rd party indicator in the Strategy Builder. We could not advise how to set up a condition based on the color of the plot and in this case, would suggest you check with the vendor for clarity on exactly what the plot "colorValue" provides in terms of actual value.

I suspect, but do not know, that the value of the plot is something simple like a +1 when rising or a -1 when falling. In this case, you would select the indicator on the left side, in the center for Equals, and on the right select Misc>Numeric Value> 1. However again the vendor would be the best source of information on how to use their indicator in a Strategy Builder strategy.

Also, I'll add some educational references on the strategy b uilder that you may want to review if you have not already done so.

Thanks a lot Paul for your detailed explenation. yes you are right. the +1 value is for the buy signal and -1 for the sell signal.

      I'll give this a try.

      Thank you very much.
