How To Warm Up Indicators Live

Hi,

how do you warm up your indicators when you set a strategy in live mode? Both in simulation or live trading.
Cleary I need some historical data until the time I start my live trading. Unfortunately I cannot see how to do it...could you please help me?

Hello Marco,

The 'Days to load' for historical data is controlled by the Data Series either for the chart or for the Strategy parameters if added directly to the Strategies tab of the Control Center.

The BarsRequiredToTrade can be set to ignore orders until x number of bars have been processed (historical or real-time).

You can also save the CurrentBar number to a variable, and then in the condition require CurrentBar to be greater than the variable plus number of bars you want to delay.

If I understand correctly, "Days to Load" will upload in the strategy the data in those previous days before going live at that point in time.

Say that variable is set to 5, NT8 will run the past 5 days plus the data in the current day before moving to live data, is that correct?

One more question then, what is the property to understand that we are currently working on live data and not historical data?

Hello Marco,

That is correct the Days to load is a setting for the number of days of historical data to load.

The State property will let you know what state the script is in.
