Question on BarsSinceEntryExecution

Something I'm not clear on here. If I am using a TICK chart vs. time and I have the ticks set for 55, does 55 ticks == 1 bar?

I'm assuming that's the way it works, but would like to clarify.

Correct, if the tickbars are size of 55 then a new bar is created after 55 ticks.

Your thread title is "Question on BarsSinceEntryExecution". If you are using the BarsSinceEntryExecution() method as an entry condition and no entry has previously occurred then the method will return a -1 value, so to use this on the first entry, you have to check that the method returns -1 value.
