How is OnBarUpdate() updated?

If I am using 1 tick chart, which is the shortest one, is OnBarUpdate() updated every 1 tick time period?
If there is no market transaction during this tick period, is OnBarUpdate() still called?
In other words, I like to know if OnBarUpdate() is called in fixed time period or is called per events (If no transaction occurred, no OnBarUpdate() is called)? Thanks.

Thanks for your post.

A tick would not be processed on a time interval but on the event of receiving the tick. OnBarUpdate() is only called when a tick is received ( Based on Calculate.OnEachTick). If no tick received, OnBarupdate() is not called.

OnBarUpdate(): Definition - An event driven method which is called whenever a bar is updated. The frequency in which OnBarUpdate is called will be determined by the "Calculate" property. OnBarUpdate() is the method where all of your script's core bar based calculation logic should be contained.

When using Calculate.OnEachTick, it is called on every incoming tick.
