    Exit on session close

I have a strategy running. What setting would I need not to exit on session close? Thx

    Hello JTizz,

    Thank you for your post.

You'd just need to uncheck Exit on Session Close in the Strategy Properties before the strategy is started. If it's already running, you'd need to disable it first in order to to uncheck that box.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance to you.

If you have a trade running and you have a strategy with set hours on it but you have exit on session close what time would this trade exit?

My understanding would be the time stamp of which order comes first.

What actually happened was session closes at 4pm opens at 5pm on the trades I made but my auto trader it opened trades during the close period which doesn't make any sense, nothing was set for it to open the trades when it did

              Hello markjd123,

              Thank you for your replies.

Exit on session close logic executes once. If your strategy doesn't specifically limit taking trades after that point, it's possible that a trade could be taken after Exit on Session Close logic executes.

You mentioned that your strategy has set hours, could you give an example of the time filter logic your strategy is using?

Thanks in advance; I look forward to assisting you further.

strategy hours are 10am to 8pm my time but I get confused as your staff say platform times are your times in the logs all the time. But Traders agency tell my the platform log times are my time so who is right?

                  Hello markjd123,

                  Thank you for your reply.

NinjaTrader will automatically adjust times to your PC's time zone. The log files would be in your time zone as well. What time zone are you located in?

Thanks in advance; I look forward to assisting you further.

Hi Kate, I am in the UK. I had issue before when I was told it was CST time by ninja but gave up in the end I lost the will to live lol. I will take it as my time is the trade times on the platform

                      Hello markjd123,

                      Thank you for your reply.

NinjaTrader lists Trading Hours templates in their hours for whatever time zone they are in, so CME Futures, for example, the trading hours template used for NQ would show on the platform in the Trading Hours window as CST, but applying that to a chart, bars will show in your time zone because it automatically translates it to your time set on your PC.

Hi Kate, I know my time is +6hrs from your time CST, I can only assume when you say session close time it is based on your time not mine?

                          Hello markjd123,

                          Thank you for your reply.

If you're +6 ahead of CST, the close time would be at 4pm CST so in your time zone, that would put the close time right at 10 pm your time, assuming you are trading CME US Index Futures.

                              Hi all,

If I set this feature up in the OnStateChange() method, but then put conflicting values on the UI, which is followed and which is ignored?

                              Thank you,
                              Tim
