Manual Trading with Automatic position management SL,TP,BE Strategy

Hi Guys,

Ive search high and low the forums but cant seem to find anything on this so sorry if your repeating yourself on such a simple question.

I would like to know if its possible to create a ninjascript strategy to manage open and new positions that are created manually, i.e create bracket orders for SL/TP automatically and adjust the SL to BE and potentially trailing.

I submit manual trades via IB TWS App, so ATM strategies are not going to work for me.


Do you have any pointers of where to begin with this? Im sure what im asking is possible

Thanks for your post.

There may be ways to do this but it would not be recommended or supported. It is my understanding that the way NinjaTrader pulls account related information is that an execution needs to occur in NinjaTrader for that account to get an update from your broker. Essentially NinjaTrader would not reliably see any orders placed from within TWS.

If you wanted to do all of your order entry from within NinjaTrader it would be possible to accomplish something like this by using the Addon framework to "listen" for account events like a fill, and then execute other logic. This help guide page has a great example of listening for account updates. Although the page says this is for an "Addon", you could also use this inside of an indicator or strategy.
