Text field on chart for user input, to enter a variable?

Hello,

I know how to create a strategy with buttons on the chart that effect variables and other things within the strategy, but is it possible to have a text field for a variable on the chart where you could enter a number and then set the variable as that number? I have created + and - buttons that dynamically change variables in the strategy by clicking the buttons, but its slow. It would be much better to be able to type in the desired variable value into the chart directly. Any tips on how to do this?

Hello RobotSyndicate,

That is possible however keep in mind the chart already has keyboard events. If you also want to use those events that requires you to "handle" the events you want to use so that their not passed to the original event. There is a sample of that in the following post:
