why are there outputs before the activation of a script?

Thanks for your post.

When the strategy is applied it will process all historical data (each historical bar will call OnBarUpDate()) and when the strategy has processed the historical data it then connects to live data which is what the output window shows.

How can i separate the historical calls from the live calls or is there an event like onbarupdate that only handles the live data?

You can separate based on the "state", either State.Historical or State.Realtime, in the OnBarUpdate().
