Different states in NT8

Can anyone give a high-level overview of different states in NT8 such as State.Configure, State.DataLoaded .

State.SetDefaults is self explanatory but I am having trouble getting a firm grasp on the other states. Any intuitive explanation and examples will be greatly appreciated
