Backtest strategy with dollar value

Could you please help me how in backtest to enter the dollar value for the stock to buy and not the number of shares in the "Quantity" box. I need NT to enter a position still worth the same dollar value with a different number of the shares according to what their price is.

Welcome to the NinjaTrader support forum.

In this case, the quantity selector specifically would not allow for this type of input. This would likely be something you would need to create custom for your strategy. A user input could be used to enter a price value, and in the strategies logic you could use that input to calculate a quantity.

After creating an input, the value could be used in your logic similar to how the above sample utilizes the Period input in its logic.
