Strategy Builder - Woodies CCI Indicator

    Hello,

I'm thinking of building a Strategy with Woodies CCI... I've attached a screen shot..

In the top left corner of the Woodies CCI Indicator is an Indicator thats states if the market is Trending (green), or if it is Flat (Red), or if it is Normal (Yellow), I want to plot with this number in the strategy I want to build..
My question is: Whats the name of it..??? Or.. what's the name of it in it's properties window..??
    Thanks Michael

    Hello Michael,

    Thanks for your post.

What I would suggest is using a print statement in a set with no conditions and then printing out the value of each of the available plots from the woodiesCCI. I suspect that the value and status you are looking for may not be available.

Here is a short video I made on how to create a print statement in the strategy builder: https://paul-ninjatrader.tinytake.co...NV8xMDk5MDc5Nw

      Hello Michael,

After further study, it looks like the sidewinder plot provides the color status, it seems to plot at 0, -1 to +1 which I correlate to the color of the neutral, warning and trending message

          Hello Michael,

Yes, I did say that but then forgot to actually post the link. I'll correct the original post shortly, thanks.

            Paul,

Using negative numbers seems to be a problem with Strategy Builder.. You can hard code a negative number in the conditions window but when it comes to using negative numbers in variables for a user input I haven't had any luck with that. And the Strategy Analyzer seems to have a problem with using negative numbers too... Is there a work around..??

            Thanks Michael

              Hello Michael,

              Thanks for your post

You can use negative numbers. In the case of inputs, you would need to make sure you set the "Min" value to be less negative than the lowest negative value you would use. So if you thought -10 was the lowest then you would set the Min of the input to be less than -10 to make sure it would be accepted as otherwise it will set it to the specified min value.

In other places, you would have to provide specifics if you are unable to use a negative number.

                Paul,

                Ok.. Thanks..

                Also See Attachment..
I have a screen shot of the Woodies CCI properties window..
If the sidewinder plot provides the color status numbers would you agree that the "Sidewinder Limit 0" box
                is the parameter to use..??

                Michael

Is it possible to use the WoodiesCCI Indicator provided in NT8 in Strategy Builder? And, can it be imported in NinjaScript Editor? I am interested in automating it, are there any workarounds since it is proprietary?

Hello AlpinesTrading, thanks for writing in. The WoodiesCCI is available in the Strategy Builder Indicators folder for use of it's data. It can not be viewed in the NinjaScript editor because it is a closed source, proprietary indicator.

Hi, yes it is possible to use this indicator in the strategy builder. You can find it by going to the Conditions and Actions menu, then open the Indicators folder and go down the list and you will see the WoodiesCCI indicator.

I have tried to get the Woodies CCI Indicator to Compile in Strategy Builder with different settings, and everytime I try to compile a pop up says can't compile and then the NinjaScript Editor pops up. Any ideas?
