    Strategy Analyzer vs Powerful Server

    Hello
I use Strategy Analyzer for test my Strategy on powerful Server (E5-1650 v3, 6 Cores, 128Gb RAM).
But back-testing takes a lot of time and I see that Ninja use CPU only on 20-40%.
How I can increase CPU usage? Any optimization in code. multi-core optimization? Any ideas and examples?

What is optimal configuration for multi-instrument back-testing?About Hardware and Software. I use 3000 instruments (shares) for backtest.

    Regards, Sergey

Hello sergey_z, thanks for your post.

There are no settings that could make NinjaTrader use more CPU cores. Currently, it is designed to use all of the available CPU cores. We offer performance-improving techniques such as IsInstantiatedOnEachOptimizationIteration for improved optimizations and IsInStrategyAnalyzer to prevent using draw objects. I can also submit a feature request to see if there is anything that can be done to improve the utilization of the CPU.

    Kind regards.

sergey_z I have found that for PLAYBACK testing, additional cores/threads offer no benefit, however increased CPU Ghz (via a faster CPU or OverClocking) will provided some performance improvement. As for Strategy Analyzer (which is not the same or as precise as PLAYBACK), NT8 will leverage all the CPU's available.
