    Strategy Builder (Indicator) Help

    Hello -

I have built a strategy that does not enter orders. It only looks to paint a diamond or a dot when the MACD line or AVG line crosses 0 (up or down).

The issue seems to be that only the last signal is painted on the chart. None of the other 0 crosses are painted.

Could I be directed as to what I am am missing?

    Thanks!

    Hello kempotrader,

    Thanks for your post.

When a drawing object is created that has the same "tag" name as one that already exits, the previous draw object is replaced by the newer one. To see all of the draw objects you would need to change the tag name to be unique per draw object.

Here is a short video that walks through the process to change the tag name using the Misc>CurrentBar in the tag name: https://Paul-ninjaTrader.tinytake.co...A4M184NTkwOTg3

Thank you, Paul. That worked! Now... Is there a way to get my manual trade entries and manual/ATM exits to print on the chart while the Strategy is running (as per the trades section of the Data series Window? As they do not seem to show unless I turn the strategy off.

      Thanks!

        Hello kempotrader,

        Thanks for your reply.

When a strategy is applied to a chart, the chart can only show the entry/exits of the strategy, there is no workaround for this.

You may want to consider creating your indicating strategy as just an indicator.

Thanks, Paul. Is there a way to create an indicator in a wizard/builder? I am not a programmer. Thanks!

            Hello kempotrader,

            Thanks for your reply.

The Ninjascript editor does have a "wizard" to allow you to create an indicator however it will only create a shell of the code and you would have to add in the specific code needed. If you are not familiar with coding this could be a difficult exercise for you but it could be done.

An alternative would be to hire a 3rd party programmer who could provide that service. If that is of interest we can provide you with links to various programmer websites.
