creating a GUI within a ninjatrader 8 chart

I am trying to see how I can create a panel that sits to the right of a chart in NT8 that holds buttons and text boxes into which I can type parameters.

It looks like the way in which I do this has changed drastically in ninjatrader 8 v ninjatrader 7, am I right?

Can anyone point me at a resource that would get me started on the road? It looks like it is a coding effort versus a form builder unless I am mistaken.

Welcome to the NinjaTrader forums.

To be specific NT8 has moved from using winfoms to WPF and XAML so quite a lot has changed in regard to UI design. For panels I would suggest the following post:

The second link has been removed, the code breaking changes page has been removed as Nt7 is no longer in active development and a majority of users have transitioned to NT8.
