MAX Indicator

Hi,

I tried using the MAX indicator with Strategy Builder, as in Close crossabove MAX(14) but it's not working, I tried doing the same with a different indicator SMA(14). It works with SMA but not working with MAX, could you please let me know why?

Hello mntemel,

Thank you for your note.

The attached screen shot, you will see that Max(14) will equal the highest close of the last 14 bars. So, the Close series could never cross above the Max(14), they could only be equal.

If you were to change the input series for the Max indicator to Low rather than closes, you should be able to use if close xabove max. I have put together a screen shot showing this.
