    Hello YakusaTrader,

    Thanks for your post.

You might check this add-on indicator for NinjaTrader8: https://ninjatraderecosystem.com/use.../jteconnews2a/

Thank you, I did, however there is no public property I can use in my strategy to backtest / or use it in the Sim.
I also tried to add a streamwriter to it, but it looks like it's locked.
Is there a way I can use it for a strategy?

      Thank you!

        Hello YakusaTrader,

        Thanks for your reply.

        The code is not locked.

As I understand it the intent of the indicator is to retrieve the current events calendar and put them into a list which is then further sorted according to user settings and then ultimately used to display on the chart and provide alerts if selected. Perhaps you might look at adding a data series to the indicator to "signal" when an alert is issued. The data series can be made public allowing the strategy to read the data series.

Here is a link to the help guide section on data series: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help.../?iseriest.htm

If you prefer to use another type of data, here is a link to an example of exposing other data: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...alues_that.htm

          Thank you very much Paul.
Would it be possible to read from a file past events and backtest a strategy that avoids trading 30 minutes before after events?
I created a .CSV file with all events dating back from 10 years ago.
          Let me know.
          Thanks again!

            Hello YakusaTrader,

            Thanks for your reply.

Yes, you would be able to read the file in using the C# StreamReader.

While this is not a Ninjascript method we have provided an example of how to use it in the environment

You can also do an internet search to find further info on the StreamReader.
