Setting default template to a strategy

Hello Forum, I hope someone knows how to do this.

I've got a list of instruments that I run backtests and the list in live markets.

I'd like each instrument to get its settings from a template that was previously saved. I'm guessing this would be similar to how a walkforward test loads an optimized configuration and then tests it forward.

I did this in the past in NT7 and there was a lot of laborious code to read settings from an Excel file. I'm hoping there is a shortcut here using the templates NT8 can create.

Unfortunately, the templates for the Strategy Analyzer are not specific to the instrument and are instead only specific to the strategy.

Would you like to submit a feature request for the NinjaTrader Development to consider allowing strategy parameters to be saved on a per instrument basis?

Thanks for the reply Chelsea. Sounds like a good idea for a new feature. It would certainly save me a good deal of time and possible errors in setting up a basket of instruments to trade.

Your request for templates in the Strategy Analyzer to be specific to the instrument is being tracked with ID #SFT-1735.

Please note, it is up to the NinjaTrader Development to decide if and when a request will be implemented.
