Offset User Variable in Strategy Wizard?

Hello Ninjatrader Support,

how can i offset (+,-,*,/) a user variable in the strategy wizard?
I can't find it anywhere.

Thank you for the post.

Currently, the offset only can be applied to specific fields, the user variables, unfortunately, do not have this ability.

I will put in a feature request to have the offset reflected to anywhere a price value can be used in the builder.


For the time being, you would need to instead use the reverse where possible meaning the value you are set to the user variable would need to be offset instead of the user variable itself being offset.

For example, you can set an Indicators value to a user variable, in the indicator settings it contains an offset. This can be used to offset the value before setting the variables. Later when the variable is used, the pre-offset value is used so no offset would be needed on the variable its self. This can still lead to situations where there is a logical gap so I will still put in a feature request.

thanks for quick reply and feature request, simple user variable offsetting would be useful.

I just needed the half from high[0] - low[0] value.
Found this way with the wizard now : Var1 = ((High[0] - (Median[0])));
