Export strategy NT8

Hi.

I've developed strategy on NT8 and I want to send it to my client.

How do I export the source code ?
How do I export a compiled file ? (without source-code)

Thanks for writing in to our Support team.

You will want to navigate to your Control Center window and select Tools --> Export --> NinjaScript Add-on to open the Export NinjaScript window.

Here, you have an option to export as a compiled assembly. Select this option if you would like to export your NinjaScript Add-on as a compiled assembly, do not select this option if you would like to export the source files.

in the add window when exporting a NinjaScript file (strategy) there is no selection? Is there something else to declare somewhere? Thanks a lot!

To export a strategy it would need to be one that you have developed using the NinjaScript editor or strategy builder tool. Have you created a strategy using one of these tools and do you see the strategy listed in the Strategies folder inside the NinjaScript editor?

Thank you, yes, it is seen in teh strategy-folder in NT-Script-Editior.

Could it be that you have compilation errors and therefore ALL of the custom NinjaScript is missing? Do you have any compilation errors when you compile in NinjaScript Editor?

there are no compilation errors and the strategy runs correctly in the chart.

I have now installed the latest version 8.1.1.6, with the same result - empty strategy-window. In the path documents/NinjaTrader 8/bin/Custom/Strategies the strategy is present as a .cs-file.
However, e.g. system indicators are available in the export window. Is there another way for the export (compiled)?

I am unsure what would cause that to happen, as a troubleshooting step please try setting the platform language to english and then restart and test again. Do the items show up?

If you create a new indicator does that show up in the list?

And just to confirm, in the NinjaScript editor you are compiling using F5 or Right click -> Compile and not just saving the file correct?

If these items do not help please use the help -> email support option and make sure log and trace files is checked. We would need to check if you are getting some kind of error or if anything else is logged.

Hi Jesse,

yeah, thank you! When I create a new strategy in the NT_script editor and compile it here with F5, it shows me in the export window under Strategies. Copied my strategy code into this strategy with the appropriate adjustments and the export works.
Originally I had created and compiled the strategy with VisualStudio2019 (started from the NT-ScriptEditior) which also worked fine as the strategy works correctly in the chart.
This would possibly be a bug regarding the use of VisualStudio. Thanks for the tip above!
